El Future Perfect Progressive
- El Future Perfect Progressive conecta el pasado y el presente al referirse a una acción que comienza en el presente y continúa hasta un punto específico en el tiempo en el futuro.
- Examinemos la siguiente oración: “By the end of this year, I will have been working for this company for 3 years.” El hablante quiere implicar que para ese momento en el futuro tendrá experiencia o sabrá mucho sobre la empresa, o posiblemente estará interesado en cambiar de trabajo. Conectamos el presente con un punto en el tiempo en el futuro.
Usamos el Future Perfect Progressive para hablar de:
- Una actividad o proceso prolongado con un resultado en el futuro
- Cuánto tiempo ha estado ocurriendo una actividad desde el presente hasta el futuro
By 12:00, I will have been walking on the Blvd. all morning, I won't have the energy to come play basketball. (proceso con resultado en el futuro) | By 6:00 p.m. she'll have been working in the garden for 8 straight hours, her back will probably hurt, she won't be able to come help you move. (proceso con resultado en el futuro) |
By the end of this year, I will have been working as a teacher for 10 years straight, that's a lot! Reglas del Future Perfect Progressive:
Sujeto + will + have + been + verbo.ing (I will have been doing)
- Usamos won’t have para formar negaciones (ver la tabla anterior).
- Usamos will + sujeto + have para formar preguntas (ver la tabla anterior).
- Normalmente no usamos el Future Perfect Progressive con verbos como understand, own, dis(like), belong, know, que describen estados inmutables. (I will have been owning a big car × incorrecto)
