El Future Simple
- El Future Simple principalmente nos ayuda a negociar qué se hará en el futuro, hacer proyecciones y describir cosas que serán ciertas en general.
Usamos el Future Simple para hablar de:
- Algo decidido en el momento de hablar
- Ofertas
- Promesas
- Aceptar o rechazar hacer algo
- Pedir a alguien que haga algo
- Predicciones basadas en experiencia u opinión personal
- Enunciados generales en el futuro que no son arreglos o intenciones
- Oraciones generales con will be

Reglas del Future Simple:
Sujeto + will + v1 (I will do)
- Usamos will para formar preguntas.
- Usamos won’t para formar negaciones.
- Will y won’t se usan para todos los pronombres. (I, we, you, they, he, she, it + will/won’t)
- El auxiliar will (verbo auxiliar) cancela la conjugación. (He likes chocolate – he will like chocolate)
- Para predecir el futuro, a menudo usamos frases como: I bet, I reckon (informal), probably, I suppose, I guess, I imagine, I think, I wonder, I’m sure.
I bet he’ll win | I reckon it’ll stop raining soon | I imagine the concert hall will be full | I’ll probably find a solution.
Puntos gramaticales avanzados:
- No podemos usar el Present Simple en oraciones como en el ejemplo 1. {I’ll go and buy us some food from the shop (correcto), no I go and buy us some food from the shop (incorrecto)}
- A menudo usamos I think I’ll o I don’t think I’ll cuando decidimos hacer algo.
- Podemos usar Shall en lugar de Will con los pronombres I, we. En particular en preguntas. (Shall I open the window? Shall we go? I shall tell him to stop visiting. We shall help him.) Esto es generalmente más común en inglés británico o inglés formal. No usamos shall naturalmente con otros pronombres.
- Generalmente usamos Going to para describir arreglos o intenciones, pero en un estilo formal preferimos will para eventos futuros que han sido previamente organizados en detalle. (The meeting will begin at 12:00; Refreshments will be available from 12:30 onwards. BUT – I’m going to talk at the meeting today.)
- Las negaciones y preguntas con will be se forman de manera diferente a todas las demás oraciones en el Future Simple. (I will not be a student \ will I be a student)
