Present Progressive \ הווה ממושך

הווה ממושך עוזר לנו לתאר פעולות\פעילויות\תהליכים\שינויים שמתרחשים בחלון זמן ספציפי.
אין זה משנה אם הפעולה מתרחשת בזמן הדיבור (כפי שלמדנו בביה"ס) או בחלון זמן ארוך יותר.
- לדוגמא: "This month, I'm working on a new project" חלון הזמן: this month הפעילות: עבודה על פרוייקט חדש. נשים לב כי פעולה זו לא מתרחשת בזמן הדיבור בהכרח אך עדיין נשתמש במבנה הווה ממושך כדי לתאר אותה, מאחר והיא זמנית ומתרחשת בחלון זמן מוגדר. גם אם חלון הזמן איננו מוגדר מפורשות במשפט, אפשר להסיק אותו מתוך המבנה הדקדוקי.
בהקשר זמן זה מומלץ ביותר לקרוא את טיפ מספר 10 מרשימת הטיפים שלנו.
מתי נשתמש ב-Present Progressive + דוגמאות:
- פעולות שמתרחשות בזמן הדיבור
- פרוייקטים\פעילות שמתרחשת לאחרונה. (לא בהכרח בזמן הדיבור)
- פעילות\פעולות יוצאות דופן
- פעולות סימולטניות\יצירת אווירה בסיפור
- תהליכים\שינויים
- דבר מה שקורה שוב ושוב (בעל קונוטציה שלילית)
- לוח זמנים פרסונאלי
- מצבים זמניים.
I’m having\eating a sandwich (פעולה שמתרחשת בזמן הדיבור) | They are buying food from the shop. (פעולה שמתרחשת בזמן הדיבור) |

הווה ממושך חוקים:
I = am \ We, you, they = are \ He, She, it = is
- נשתמש ב-am, is, are בשילוב פועל -ing לבנות משפטים חיוביים, שליליים ושאלות. (I am eating \ I am not eating \ Am I eating)
- isn’t \ aren’t – פעלי עזר מקוצרים (is not = isn’t \ aren’t = are not)
- אין משתמשים בדרך כלל בהווה ממושך יחד עם פעלים כגון: understand, own, like\dislike, know שלרוב מתארים מצבים קבועים ולא תהליכים זמניים. (I am owning a big care = incorrect)
- למרות זאת, יש מקרים בהם נשתמש בפעלים מצביים אלו בהווה הממושך. (I’m liking this more and more… – הכוונה שיש תהליך שהדבר מתחבב על אותו אדם עוד ועוד כתהליך שמתרחש בזמן מסוים, כגון לדוגמא הקשבה לשיר או צפייה במצגת כלשהי.)
